Switched to a higher-scoring food and my dog's coat changed in a month
Not claiming cause and effect, but: he was on a supermarket kibble for two years, coat always a bit dull and flaky in winter. Moved him onto something with fish oil and a named meat first, and about five weeks later he's noticeably glossier. The transition was the annoying part — a week of mixing before he'd take it plain.

Is 'grain free' actually better, or is it marketing?
Genuinely asking. Half the internet says grains are filler, the other half says grain-free is a fad and points at the DCM investigation. I don't know who to believe and my dog doesn't have any diagnosed allergy.
