How often should a healthy adult cat actually see a vet?

Mine is six, indoor, no problems. My last vet said annually, a friend's says every two years for healthy indoor cats. What's the actual thinking here?

Not veterinary advice

Nobody here is your vet, and no vet reviews these posts. Community experience is genuinely useful for working out whether something is worth worrying about - but if your animal is unwell, in pain, or has stopped eating or drinking, call a vet rather than waiting for a reply.

Annual is the usual advice for adults, moving to twice a year around 10-11. A lot of what they're checking for โ€” teeth, weight trend, kidney markers โ€” is slow and easier to catch early.

The weight trend point is underrated. Ours lost 400g over a year and nobody noticed until the scales did.
